Hello! I just happened across this today and it was great timing as we're getting down to the wire on choosing a wedding location. We've gotten quotes from about 30 locations found through HereComestheGuide.com and WeddingCompass.com already, but only 3 or 4 are even near our price range.

Tent rentals are kind of ridiculous, if you haven't noticed...and since i'm doing this in my own back yard, there's no reason i can't use something i can keep (and take my time setting up...)!  There are tons of metal and canvas gazebos out this year.  I think this might be the solution (sure beats my military surplus tent idea, unless i'm planning ( Read more... )

So I asked a family friend who has a lovely home and garden if I could hold my reception there. After three weeks of not hearing from them, I started to worry. I came up with a backup plan of holding the reception at my parents' house. So my amazing venue...comes with a hitch, they are not allowing us to have our own music but the music normally at this venue is always background lounge music. Not really the sort of atmosphere we were looking for. We are not allowed to bring our own setup let alone our own music ( Read more... )

FH and I set the date in May, but because of work-related stress issues followed by unemployment, I didn't want to set any venues or vendors in stone because I wasn't sure how long I'd be unemployed. Anyone else having trouble finding a venue? I feel like I've hit a dead end. Anywhere that has looked promising has been too expensive or doesn't allow outside food. I've searched message boards galore, and done so many Google searches I'm boycotting the site for a few days!
